Worth it for the View

Ohh, this is the reason I hike: whether climbing Mont Sainte Victoire or the spiral staircase to the bell tower of a cathedral, it's always worth it for the view.

These photos were taken in Nice, where I climbed the stairs up the side of the Colline du Chateau with my Mom and stepfather Jamie. There is a waterfall at the top, which we wanted to see but it was too late in the day. The elevators were not operating so we took the stairs next to the rue des Ponchettes. The views are from that round tower in the picture below.
